Delco Republican candidates endorsed

The first half of the week saw a flurry of endorsement releases from local Republicans either looking to retain their seat or hoping to take one in the November general election.
State Senate Majority Leader Dominic Pileggi, R-9, of Chester, and state Reps. Bill Adolph, R-165, of Springfield and Tom Killion, R-168, of Middletown, all received the endorsement of the Regional Building and Construction Trades Council.
"Senator Pileggi has always been willing to work with the labor community to address issues that are of importance to our members," Danny Kubik, chairman of the Delaware County Committee of the Building and Construction Trades, said in a release. "We're fortunate to have his support in Harrisburg and are pleased to support his return to the Pennsylvania Senate."
Pileggi faces Democrat John Linder, former headmaster of Village Charter School, in the November election.
"Representatives Adolph and Killion have shown strong support for working families and job creation and we are proud to support their re-election efforts," Kubik said in a separate release. "The 12,000 men and women that make up our affiliated unions recognize the hard work and commitment of these legislators. They are dedicated to the working people they represent and deserve re-election."
Adolph, a 20-year incumbent, faces newcomer Democrat Tom Quinn, an educator and three-year Springfield resident. Killion will square off against another fresh face, that of 25-year-old Ian Thomas, an Upper Providence Democrat.
Craig Williams, of Concord, the Republican candidate for the 7th Congressional District, also received the endorsement of the Delaware County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 27, according to another release.
Williams served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney under Pat Meehan, where he was responsible for the successful prosecution of one of the largest heroin dealers and networks in the eastern United States, and prosecuted a wide range of cases for other crimes, according to the release.
"Craig knows from first-hand experience the challenges facing law enforcement and our police officers on the streets," Dick Saraceni, recording secretary of FOP Lodge 27, said in the release. "We know Craig is going to stand with the rank-and-file police officers in giving us the tools needed to fight crime, imposing tougher sentence(s) on criminals and fighting to keep our communities safe."
Williams is looking to unseat freshman Democratic U.S. Rep. Joseph Sestak, D-7, of Edgmont.
